Osteochondritis dissecans - knee

Presentation

Chronic pain of the right knee.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

There is an osteochondral lesion of the medial femoral condyle. The osteochondral fragment appears relatively isointense to the normal bone on both T1WI/PD fat with surrounding high signal line "rim sign"demarcating this fragment from bone, indicating an unstable non-displaced lesion. There is another small detached and displaced osteochondral fragment seen in the medial paracondylar space.

No meniscal tear seen.

ACL, PCL, and collateral ligaments are intact.

No significant joint effusion seen.
