Presentation

Several days of severe left side pelvic pain.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Female
ct

The left ovary is enlarged and shifted medially. It shows heterogenous parenchyma and internal cystic component likely representing necrosis. A large left adnexal thin walled clear cyst is seen with twisted appearance of the left adnexal pedicle.

Case Discussion

A case of severe left side pelvic pain shows the characteristic appearance of left ovarian torsion manifested by a twisted adnexal pedicle, lead cyst and enlarged medialized ovary with possible internal necrosis.
