Presentation

Right limbing with history of fall since a week.

Patient Data

Age: 1 year
Gender: Male
x-ray

The mid-shaft of right fibula shows thick periosteal reaction with no obvious fracture line detected on x-ray basis. Yet, still concerning of a fracture.

Case Discussion

Periosteal reactions in pediatric patients are non-specific and can result from many causes. The patient's mother gave a history of fall on his right leg since a week. So, the periosteal reaction of the fibula is likely to represent a healing fracture.
