Ultrasound examination shows a pelvic mass with a discoid /pancake appearance, with associated moderate dilatation of pelvicalyceal systems.in addition to the absence of both kidneys in the normal place.
Case Discussion
Pancake kidney is a rare renal fusion anomaly that results from the fused of both kidneys in the pelvic region. It usually presents as an incidental finding or may present pelviureteric junction obstruction, recurrent infection, and recurrent calculus formation.
