Left knee pain for 2 months after trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Lucent incomplete transverse fracture line of the patellar apex.

mri

Transverse fracture of the apex of the patella with surrounding marrow edema. No displaced fragment.

No significant joint effusion.

The rest of the imaged bones are normal.

The infrapatellar fat pad is normal.

The features are consistent with a transverse incomplete fracture of the apex of the patella with surrounding marrow edema.
