Traumatic knee injury resulting from a direct fall on the right knee.

Transverse two-part patellar fracture with displacement and retraction of the proximal fractured fragment.

Case Discussion

Patellar fractures are common findings in direct falls on the knee or due to dashboard injury.

They can be categorized based on the type of fracture in 3 types:

  • type A: longitudinal fracture

  • type B: transverse fracture

  • type C: comminuted fracture
