Pelvis radiograph revealed a periprosthetic hip fracture. There is an intertrochanteric fracture with displacement of the lesser trochanter adjacent to a dynamic condylar screw (DCS).
Case Discussion
In the present case, there is a periprosthetic fracture around a dynamic condylar screw (DCS) used to treat a previous proximal femoral fracture.
Periprosthetic fractures are complications usually associated with joint replacements, such as in knee or hip arthroplasties, but these fractures can happen near and/or around any orthopedic prosthesis.
