moderate ventricular dilatation with mild undulations of the ependymal surface of both lateral ventricles
marked decreased size of periventricular white matter, centrum semiovale and corona radiata
Case Discussion
The patient has cerebral palsy with spastic quadriplegia and is currently on anti-epileptic medications. She has a history of hypoxic-ischemic insult at birth. The CT pattern of white matter loss with the ventricular dilatation is typical of end-stage periventricular leukomalacia (PVL).
