Patient Data

Age: 75 years
Gender: Female

There is an arterial communication between the cavernous segment of left internal carotid artery and basilar artery.

The left posterior communicating artery supplies the left posterior cerebral artery.

Vertebral and caudal basilar arteries are hypoplastic.

Case Discussion

Our case is classified as Saltzman type II, as the persistent primitive trigeminal artery from the cavernous segment of left internal carotid artery is traversing over the dorsum sella and joining the basilar artery to supply superior cerebellar arteries.

The left posterior cerebral artery is supplied by the posterior communicating artery.

Rest of the anterior circulation and right posterior cerebral artery appear normal.
