Case Discussion

The patient presents with an impaled pitchfork within the right foot. Pitchforks usually have sharp tines and hence the ease of penetration in this patient who accidentally jumped onto a pitchfork during gardening. He underwent controlled surgical removal in the operating theater.

In cases of penetrating trauma, X-ray appearances can be confusing and difficult to explain without a supportive and fully comprehensive history of the mechanism of injury.
