The pituitary gland is bulky showing convex upper border measuring 11mm in max height. It shows homogeneous post contrast enhancement. No pituitary adenomas.
Case Discussion
Pituitary hyperplasia refers to the diffuse pituitary enlargement that can be physiological in young menstruating females or pregnant/lactating women or, less commonly, secondary to end-organ failure.
In pituitary hyperplasia the gland appears bulky with convex upper margin with a height exceeding 10mm.
