Preseptal orbital cellulitis with myositis

Presentation

Painful left periorbital swelling with binocular diplopia.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female

Soft-tissue thickening with enhancement anterior to the left orbital septum with no abscess formation in keeping with a preseptal periorbital cellulitis.

Thickening of the left lateral rectus muscle of high signal on T2 and T2 fat sat with enhancement in keeping with myositis.

Normal size and signal intensity of the other extraocular orbital muscles and optic nerves.

Mild peripheral mucosal thickening of the maxillary sinuses.

Case Discussion
