Presentation

Nocturnal fever and cough with sputum stained with blood for 2 weeks

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Bilateral apical reticulonodular opacities are noted.

Normal heart size.

Both costophrenic angles are clear.

Case Discussion

The pulmonary manifestations of tuberculosis are diverse and depend, in part, on whether the infection is primary or post-primary. The lungs constitute the most common site of primary tuberculosis infection and serve as a major source of disease spread, contributing significantly to individual morbidity and mortality.
