Right posterior cerebral artery (PCA) infarct

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

The patient was a known case of hypertension with left-sided weakness

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Female

A large hypodense area is noted in the right parieto-temporo-occipital region along with mass effects as compression of the occipital horn/trigone of the right lateral ventricle and compression of the adjacent sulci and gyri.

Lacunar infarcts are appreciated in bilateral periventricular regions.

A well-defined calcified lesion is also noted in the right parietal region as well, most likely burnt out meningioma.

No midline shift / mass effect or calvarial defect is seen.

CT findings are of infarct in the territory of the right posterior cerebral artery as described above.
