Right frontal well-defined extra-axial lesion of fat density and peripheral calcification. Fat density locules were noticed in the subarachnoid space and suprasellar cistern. The lesions are associated with minimal peri-focal edema and cause minimal midline shift.

Radiological findings are diagnostic of a ruptured intracranial dermoid cyst.

Case Discussion

Dermoid cysts are developmental lesions containing epidermal elements. They have a characteristic radiological appearance and are composed predominantly of fat and calcifications. The presence of fat density within the subarachnoid spaces is indicative of a ruptured dermoid cyst.
