There is increased calcaneal apophyseal density bilaterally with associated fragmentation. There are no radiographic features to suggest retrocalcaneal bursitis.
Case Discussion
Sever disease is most often a clinical diagnosis and is usually confirmed on MRI. There are however non-specific plain film features that may allude to the diagnosis, specifically apophyseal fragmentation and increased density. Retrocalcaneal bursitis may also be associated.
