Presentation
Bleeding per rectum. Colonoscopy in keeping with a sigmoid colon tumor.
Patient Data
Circumferential irregular wall thickening of the sigmoid colon with a length of about 9 cm, luminal stenosis and transserosal spread.
Associated 25 x 35 mm sigmoid mesocolic deposit with two to three subcentimetric pericolonic lymph nodes.
No signs of other distant abdominal metastases.
Resection of the sigmoid loop and colorectal anastmosis.
The liver contains a number of low attenuation ill-defined heterogeneously-enhancing focal lesions in both liver lobes with continuous marginal enhancement. The largest is seen in the right lobe measuring 15 x 25 mm.
Case Discussion
This unfortunate case demonstrates a pathologically proven well-differentiated adenocarcinoma in a young patient. Follow up CT 6 month later also revealed hepatic metastasis.
