Sinus venosus atrial septal defect with partial anomalous pulmonary venous return
Presentation
Shortness of breath
Patient Data
Small sinus venosus atrial septal defect associated with right-sided partial anomalous pulmonary venous return draining to the supracardiac superior vena cava.
Features of pulmonary hypertension in the form of a dilated main pulmonary trunk and rightward bowing of the interventricular septum.
Hypoplastic right coronary artery with left coronary dominance via the left circumflex artery, no atherosclerotic changes.
Case Discussion
This patient complained of longstanding shortness of breath.
A review of echocardiography revealed shunt vascularity at the atrial septal level.
CT coronary angiography shows a rare type of atrial septal defect (sinus venosus type) with partial anomalous pulmonary venous return.
The patient's complaint is thought to stem from pulmonary hypertension secondary to the shunt.
