The small bowel loops are dilated and fluid-filled until the distal ileal segment. A right-sided inguinal hernia contains a part of the distal ileum and causes obstruction. The bowel loops distal to the herniated part are not dilated. No sign of bowel wall ischemia could be seen in the current study.
A small volume of free fluid is present in the abdominopelvic spaces.
Case Discussion
Small bowel obstruction due to entrapment of the distal ileal loops in the right-sided inguinal hernia.
