Case Discussion

The space of Poirier is a normal anatomic area of poor ligamentous support at the palmar aspect of the wrist. It is located between the capitate and lunate, particularly the volar radioscaphocapitate and radiolunotriquetral ligaments. It is a weak spot through which the lunate can escape in the setting of lunate dislocation.
