Presentation

History of Von Hippel-Lindau disease. Complaints from neck pain.

Patient Data

Age: 18 years
Gender: Male
mri
  • there are two ill-defined intramedullary T2 hyperintensities (eccentrical with an exophytic component) involving the posterior cervical spinal cord at the level of the occipital foramen (lesion A) and at the level of C6-C7 (lesion B)

  • theses lesions demonstrate vivid nodular contrast enhancement (lesion A, lesion B)

  • there is no significant spinal cord expansion or syrinx

Case Discussion

Multiple intramedullary enhancing nodules with no signs of malignancy, in a patient with a history of Von Hippel-Lindau disease. The first diagnosis to consider in this case is spinal hemangioblastomas.
