Presentation
Recurrent hemoptysis.
Patient Data
Multiple areas of ground glass opacity are visible in the lingula of the left lung. Two patches of sub-pleural consolidation with adjacent similar ground glass haziness are noted in the left lung base which may be evolving infarcts. Multiple segments of fusiform aneurysmal dilatation are seen at the bifurcation of the two main pulmonary arteries and the right interlobar artery. These segments are partially thrombosed. The thrombus is seen extending into the subsegmental branches.
Case Discussion
This is a case of a patient diagnosed with Behcet disease based on clinical findings and radiological data. The patient suffered from oral and genital ulcers, as well as recurrent hemoptysis. Thoracic manifestations of Behcet disease include alveolar hemorrhage, subpleural infarcts and fusiform aneurysmal dilatation of the pulmonary arteries involving the lower lobes in particular.
