Ankle and foot radiographs revealed a bulging of the cortex of the distal metaphysis of the tibia, in keeping with a torus fracture.
There is also a discrete bowing of the fibula noticed on the lateral projection with an anterior angulation.
Case Discussion
Torus fractures, also known as buckle fractures, and bowing fractures are incomplete fractures of the shaft of long bones, almost exclusive to immature skeletons.
