Presentation
Long standing painless and stable swelling in the left temporal region.
Patient Data
Small well-defined, oval-shape heterogenous lesion containing internal calcifications, measuring about 8 x 17 mm in the superficial subcutaneous soft tissues of the left temporal scalp. No internal vascularity is seen in it on color Doppler ultrasound examination. Sonographic features are in keeping with a trichilemmal cyst.
Histopathology report confirming the imaging findings of a trichilemmal cyst.
Case Discussion
The location (subcutaneous soft tissues of the left temporal scalp) and imaging features are suggestive of trichilemmal cyst.
