Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

The individual is experiencing symptoms of fever, headache, and drowsiness.

Patient Data

Age: 15 years
Gender: Female

Numerous small, well-defined, ring-enhancing lesions are scattered in the brain parenchyma, both in the infratentorial and supratentorial compartments. These lesions appear hyperintense on T2WI/FLAIR sequences. Some of these lesions show diffusion restriction.

Leptomeningeal enhancement is noted, most obviously, along the right Sylvian fissure.

Case Discussion

The findings are consistent with intracranial manifestations of tuberculosis involving both intra-axial and extra-axial regions.

Test results have confirmed that she has pulmonary tuberculosis.
