Presentation
Dyspareunia with postcoital bleeding. Had resection of a vaginal septum one month ago.
Patient Data
The MRI sequences demonstrate two separated, divergent uterine horns (angle=80°) with a fundal cleft (> 1 cm). The endometrial cavities as well as the cervices are uniformly separate in keeping with a uterus didelphys.
Both ovaries are moderately enlarged (13 cc for each) with numerous small follicles (>20 for each) which may indicate an associated polycystic ovarian syndrome.
On abdominal ultrasound (not shown), both kidneys were normal in size and location.
Case Discussion
MRI features of a uterus didelphys (Müllerian duct anomaly class III).
The vaginal septum for which the patient has been operated is frequently associated with didelphys uterus.
