Vaginal leiomyoma

Presentation

No abdominal complaints.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

Retroverted uterus. Thick posterior myometrium with heterogeneous echopattern in the body and fundus region. Normal uterine cervix. No endometrial thickening. Small left ovary. The right ovary could not be localized. No adnexal lesion on either side.

A well-defined hypoechoic lesion in the left lateral vaginal wall measuring 26 x 21 x 18 mm. Mild heterogeneous echopattern without cystic spaces/ calcification. Mild vascularity was present in the lesion (however, images not available).

Case Discussion

The postmenopausal female consulted the gynecologist for a routine check-up. The ultrasound revealed uterine adenomyosis along the vaginal wall solid lesion. Histopathology revealed uterine adenomyosis and vaginal wall leiomyoma.
