Prostate abscesses are relatively uncommon due to antibiotic therapy reducing the complications of prostatitis. Prostate abscesses mainly effect diabetic and immunocompromised patients.

This is a very large prostate abscess which has decompressed into the left ischioanal fossa. This case was surgically managed with incision and drainage in the operating room. Cultures grew staph epidermis.
