Polycystic ovarian morphology is one of the criteria for diagnosing PCOS in one or both ovaries in which there is:
- enlarged size of the ovary ≥ 10 cc
- increased number of follicles per ovary (FNPO) ≥ 20
- peripherally arranged follicles 'String of pearls sign'
- echogenic central stroma
- small-sized follicles 2-9 mm
