Young patient with breathlessness and wheezing with occasional bouts of non-productive cough. What are the findings? Could you suggest a differential diagnosis?
A circumscribed density is seen projected over the right main bronchus. The differentials could be lymphadenopathy, posterior mediastinal mass or an endobronchial mass. However, the fact that the margins of the mass are clearly seen indicates that it is surrounded by air and is likely to be endobronchial (silhouette sign).
A circumscribed density is seen projected over the right main bronchus on the frontal view. The margins of the mass are clearly seen indicating that it is in contact with air and is likely to be endobronchial (silhouette sign).
