Barium flows via the esophagus to the stomach. There is a long markedly irregular stricture of the mid to distal thoracic esophagus, approximately 20 cm in length, producing mild holdup of barium. Shouldering is noted at its proximal end. It does not involve the GE junction. Remainder of the esophagus is unremarkable. No hiatus hernia. Supine and upright views of the stomach are normal in appearance.
