Post operative urinoma

Discussion:

Urinomas are free collections of uriniferous fluid often occurring retroperitoneal but injury to the distal ureter results in a pelvic urinoma. Ureteric injury most commonly occurs in the distal third of the ureter often following iatrogenic injury most commonly after gynecological procedures.

The best imaging modality is CT with delayed images after intravenous contrast administration and reformatted MIP sagittal and coronal images and 3D reconstruction to demonstrate urine leakage and point of injury.
