Young children (less than three years) are more prone to develop growing skull fracture, also children with cephalohematoma, immediate seizures after trauma and when CT at the time of initial presentation exhibited linear skull fracture more than 4 mm wide.

Knowledge and awareness by parents and front-line health care personnel are needed to avoid misdiagnosis.
