Intrascrotal extratesticular epidermoid cyst

Discussion:

Well-defined heterogeneous echogenicity extra-testicular lesion in the left hemiscrotum which is likely an epidermoid cyst. It was also found completely separable from the epididymis during the surgery. Special attention should be paid during the scanning and interpreting such lesion as it can be easily misinterpreted as a testicular malignancy which can lead to unnecessary laboratory investigations (e.g. AFP, B-HCG, LDH etc) and further imaging work-up like CT or MRI scan.
