Third, fourth and fifth toe symphalangism

Discussion:

Symphalangism is the technical term to described fusion of the phalanges (i.e. ankylosis of the interphalangeal joints).

It is a common anatomical variant, especially in the toes, although rarely may be associated with various syndromes or carpal/tarsal coalitions.

This case shows symphalangism of the third and fourth toes, which is less common than isolated fifth toe symphalangism.
