Insufficiency fracture is a type of stress fracture in the background of normal stresses on abnormal bone. Diagnosis is confirmed based on the clinical exam and imaging findings. These type of fractures usually are not detected by conventional radiographs. Isotope bone scan and especially MRI are the choice modalities in order to assessing of this condition. In our patient's case, the MRI demonstrated an insufficiency fracture of the medial tibial plateau.
