Potentially Reversible Acute Encephalopathic Syndromes
VASCULAR
- RCVS: Thunderclap HA with cerebral vasoconstriction. Imaging normal or narrowed cortical vessels with adjacent parenchymal edema/hemorrhage, and convexity SAH.
- Transient Global Amnesia: Punctate DWI in CA1 of hippocampus.
- DIC or Thrombotic Microangiopathy: Clotting of microvasculature cases innumerable microhemorrhages and occasional small strokes. I can't find any cases, sorta looks like Amyloid angiopathy. DDX BRAIN, Diffuse Microhemorrhage.
INFECTION
- Encephalitis: Leptomeninges bright on FLAIR, T1+C, or FLAIR+C is most sensitive. Later stage, cortex restricts.
