Presentation

Swelling of the distal part of the left leg and pain at the knee on the same side.

Age: 15 years
Gender: Male

In the distal metaphysisi of the left femur, a sessile bone mass contiguous to the cortical bone is identified, causing a slight increase in the volume of the adjacent soft tissues.

Case Discussion

Osteochondroma, represents a common benign bone tumor characterized by a cartilage-capped bony outgrowth contiguous with the cortical and medullary bone. These tumor are most frequently diagnosed during the first two decades of life.
