Marbled pattern of the corpus callosum has been described in the acute phase of neuromyelitis optica (NMO) and represents multiple overlapping lesions with heterogeneous signal 1. This is distinct from the more typical appearance of multiple sclerosis (MS) where smaller separate individual lesions are seen ascending from the callososeptal interface.
