The infrarenal abdominal aorta is dilated and measures 8 x 10 cm with a large peripheral thrombus. Bilateral common iliac arteries, celiac axis, superior mesenteric arteries, and renal arteries have normal origin, size, and opacification.
Renal cortical cysts are seen bilaterally.
Case Discussion
CT is highly sensitive and specific for the detection of abdominal aortic aneurysms.
CT also provides information about the aneurysm's shape and its relation to visceral and renal vessels.
