Reduced distance between L4 and L5 spinous processes is seen with interspinous bursitis. A dorsal epidural cyst is seen, measuring approximately 9 x 6 x 14 mm in the midline and on the left side. This contains possible fibrous soft tissue within and appears to communicate with interspinous bursitis.
Reduced distance between other spinous processes is also seen.
Other spondylotic changes viz. disc bulges, Schmorl's nodes, ligamentum flavum, and facet hypertrophy are also seen.
Case Discussion
Findings are consistent with Baastrup disease, also called 'kissing spines'.
