Injecting contrast medium via a Foley catheter allows visualization of the tree-shaped urinary bladder, revealing wall hypertrophy with an irregular and trabeculated outline, along with some outpouching indicating diverticula.
No vesicoureteric reflux is seen.

Christmas tree bladder in a 15-year-old boy with neurogenic bladder, that often caused by elevated sphincter tone (detrusor sphincter dyssynergia) from suprasacral lesions (above S2-S4) or epiconal lesions (in and around S2-S4).
