Grade 1 anterolisthesis of C2 on C3 with associated bilateral pars interarticularis fracture. Preserved transverse foramina.

Case Discussion

The findings are consistent with Hangman fracture also known as traumatic spondylolisthesis of the axis. Hangman fractures could be atypical or typical as in this case. In the atypical variant, the fracture involves the posterior vertebral body of C2 rather than pars interarticularis.
