There is no midline shift or abnormal extra-axial fluid. Absence of gyri and sulci is normal for gestational age. The ventricles are normal in size but slightly asymmetric. There is a cavum septum pellucidum. The midline structures are normal. No intraventricular, germinal matrix or parenchymal hemorrhage.
Case Discussion
This is a normal cranial ultrasound in a premature neonate born at 25 weeks gestation. The absence of gyri and sulci is a normal finding in premature infants.
