Presentation

Left pelvic pain.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

Well-defined ovoid left ovarian cyst of high signal on T1 with T2 "shading sign". No peripheral enhancement seen on postcontrast sequences, in keeping with an ovarian endometrioma

Thickening of the torus uterinus which may indicate deep endometriosis.

numerous small follicles are seen bilaterally, the largest measures 24 mm.

Normal appearance of the uterus.

Torus uterinus is abnormal and refers to a thickened attachment of the uterosacral ligaments at the posterior uterocervical junction due to endometriosis.
