Presentation
Painless mass in the right popliteal fossa
Patient Data
There is a well-defined ovoid mass within the popliteal fossa inseparable from the tibial nerve. It shows an isosignal to the muscles on T1WI, heterogeneous high signal on PD fat sat with heterogeneous vivid enhancement following IV contrast. The adjacent medial and lateral head of gastrocnemius muscles appear normal
The menisci, cruciate and collateral ligaments are intact.
No joint effusion.
Case Discussion
The presence of a well-defined ovoid mass within the popliteal fossa Inseparable from the tibial nerve is most consistent of a peripheral nerve sheath tumor (PNST).
