A large CSF-containing cavity surrounded by white matter is noted in the right parietal-temporal-occipital region communicating with the occipital and temporal horns of the right lateral ventricle.
Dilatation of the ventricular system is noted.
Cortical gyriform calcifications are noted in bilateral cerebral hemispheres.
Case Discussion
The features represent a large internal porencephalic cavity in the right cerebral hemispheres
The presence of porencephaly, ventriculomegaly, and cortical calcifications suggest sequelae of intrauterine insult.
