Thigh lipoma

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Left upper thigh mass. No pain.

Patient Data

Age: 3 years
Gender: Female
mri

A large well-defined, fat signal intensity lesion with thin internal septae in the subcutaneous topography of the antero-medial aspect of the left thigh from the inguinal region inferiorly to the level of above the knee joint. No significant internal soft tissue components. No calcifications.

Posteriorly the lesion is abutting the vascular bundle.

There is some compression over the muscles with no significant evidence of invasion.

No bony destructive changes.

Case Discussion

The features represent lipoma. The possibility of liposarcoma or lipoblastoma seems less likely as no aggressive features nor soft tissue components are seen.
