Case Discussion
MRI features of a vitreous hemorrhage in a diabetic hypertensive patient.
The vast majority of vitreous hemorrhage occurs secondary to:
proliferative diabetic retinopathy
retinal detachment or tear (which in itself could be due to posterior vitreous detachment or proliferative diabetic retinopathy)
other causes include: orbital trauma, ocular malignancy, vascular occlusive disease, hemoglobinopathies, age-related macular degeneration
