CT angiogram of the neck and intracranial vessels confirmed a basilar tip occlusion.
Normal filling of left posterior cerebral artery.
Fetal origin of the right posterior cerebral artery.
Case Discussion
Patient did not proceed to thrombectomy and the occlusion resolved over the following days.
This case provides an example of the hyperdense vessel sign on the unenhanced CT brain as well as acute basilar occlusion.
